Mashed Potatoes and Celery with Apple Finish

3.3 lb peeled Ringerike potatoes
1.1 lb peeled celery root in cubes
1-2 sub acid apples in small cubes
1 ⅓ cups whole milk
1 cup butter
Salt and pepper
PREPARATION:
Boil potatoes and celery until tender.
Heat up the milk.
Strain the water off the potatoes and celery, and add the warm milk.
Mash with a masher until there are still some whole pieces.
Add butter, season with salt and pepper, and add the pieces of apple just before serving.
