In the show from the beautiful Sognefjord, I made a milkshake with the freshest milk possible, straight from a cow we met on set. Then the milk was warm, but incredibly rich and fresh, at least when I added a few ice cubes. In this version I use vanilla ice cream to compensate for the richness that you do not get with industrial processed milk.

INGREDIENTS:

Number of servings

Servings: 2

List of ingredients

1 cup (a little more than 2 dl) full fat milk

2 large scoops vanilla ice cream

8-10 medium strawberries, hulled and halved

Wild strawberries on a straw for decoration (optional)

2 stalks lemon balm, lemon thyme, or lemongrass

PREPARATION:

  • Mix the milk, ice cream, and strawberries until smooth in a blender. Using your hands, hold the stem of the lemon balm between your palms, twist and bruise the leaves, and add the whole stem to a tall glass. This helps the herb release its flavor without interfering with the consistency of the drink.

  • Pour the milkshake into glasses and garnish with wild strawberries.
